What’s the topic of lecture?
We’re talking about the thesis-driven academic essay as its own dialect of English, one with rules internal to the practice. I figure my students who know anything at all about baseball will get a kick out of listening to someone talk about the game in a dialect entirely ill-fitting to the practice at hand.
When I watched this video, I was reminded of how well I’m able to follow your theological posts: I can tell there’s some exciting stuff going on, but most of what I read becomes blue and red lights.
