Off to the Office

Now that the previous occupant has vacated, and now that we’re back in town from family travels, this morning I’m finally moving several boxes of books into my Emmanuel College office. In a month and a week faculty workshops start, and I’ll be a professor for real. In the meantime, I’m going to keep trying to write dissertation pages, keep some perspective on things, and resist the Heideggerian anxiety.? This morning I ran a mile and a half, and I hope to work my way up to a couple miles a day before the school year starts, hopefully dropping a pound or two before the new baby comes and I put on twenty more.

In the next several days I’m planning here to talk about a few books I’ve read this summer, continue the conversation on Luther’s Bondage of the Will, and to try out some other ideas.? Being back in town has proven taxing thus far (two weeks of catching up to do, after all), but I do plan to keep writing as time provides itself.

[edit: I've now got myself moved in, and it feels pretty good. ?I've got some bookshelf space left even if the second shelf I requested doesn't arrive, and I'm probably going to check my mailbox now and head home.]
