“Adolescence is a transitionary period from childhood to adulthood; it is not a subculture. Our task as adults is to get them through adolescence, not perpetuate it.”? That sentence alone was worth the price of admission, but the rest of the interview is even better, and it’s a good meal for thought as Mary and I get ready to receive the latest crop of junior high kids on Wednesday nights.? In fact, I’ve already started sketching plans for a set of “Spirituality Toolbox” sessions for that group.? I also wonder whether YiM in our own tradition might be an alternative with this sort of flavor.? I’ll have to look into that.
