RIP Dust Comics

This actually happened a couple months ago, but I’m never up to speed with such things, am I?

As I mentioned in my recent exchange with Slim and Ben, one of the coolest things about the CIY conference that I wrote about was that, bound with the weekend’s program, CIY gave every conference attendee a copy of issue four of Dust Comics.

Unfortunately, before I ever went to the conference, Dust went out of business.? It’s too bad, really; the comic book they gave us at CIY was well written and well drawn, and it actually had a good comic book sensibility and a bit of theological nuance.? Beyond that, it was a rendition of the Babylonian invasion that led to the exile, a story that usually doesn’t get much coverage before one graduates to “big people’s church.”

Of course, on an impulse, I immediately ordered the first three issues from amazon.com.? They came late last week, and every one is pretty great.? It’s just a pity that I came late to that dance.

(Why no link to the Dust Press website, you ask?? They took that down, too.)
