Boethius and Alfred

I led discussion in our Old English seminar and held my own with the big ax-swinging Anglo-Saxonists.? That’s always a nice feeling.? Now the next few weeks are going to be low-maintenance for me in there–each student has one discussion to lead, and mine is over, so now all I have to do between now and April 23 is to show up and to offer comments on other folks’ projects.

I also met with Dr. Medine today, and we scratched out some basics on my comprehensive exams.? She basically let me write my own questions, and although I don’t expect them to appear precisely in the form that we brainstormed today, I’m confident that I could show up and take this exam.? I need to schedule the things soon so that I have a date to point towards, but I’m feeling quite good in general.
